Default Africa Cup of Nations

Always entertaining. Defences are often terrible and they throw everything forward. The last one had so many hilarious moments. Games on paper that look terrible are often great.

It only runs from 17 January to 8 February so there'll be plenty of games on.

Eurosport 2 have Gabon v Burkina Faso is the first game and it is on at 7pm Saturday.

Group A
1 Equatorial Guinea
2 Burkina Faso
3 Gabon
4 Congo

Group B
1 Zambia
2 Tunisia
3 Cape Verde
4 DR Congo

Group C
1 Ghana
2 Algeria
3 South Africa
4 Senegal

Group D
1 Ivory Coast
2 Mal
3 Cameroon
4 Guinea

Will BBC 3 have any games? They usually do. Hanson should come out of retirement to comment on the defending, he'd be able to do a 4 hour lecture on it.

I usually watch it but it's more of an annoyance this year as NUFC can't afford to give up Cisse for too long so hopefully Senegal get knocked out in the groups so I can enjoy it more.

I dont understand why they feel the need to still play this tournament, every two years.

I always enjoy this competition mainly because the refs allow some horrendous tackles to go unpunished.

Looking at http://www.live-footballontv.com/ it seems Europsort have every game and ITV4 have a few closer to the end.

Agreed. I also never understand the calls from people moaning about the ACN not falling in line with the majority-European football calendar either.

No Nigeria and no Egypt...

Group C looks quite tasty, Algeria were pretty impressive last summer. For 20 minutes they had the Germans rocking.

I will be having a small bet on Gabon. Should be able to top group and a winnable quarter final and then who knows from there. They won all their group games last time and lost on penalties and are unbeaten in about 6 games. Have one of the best players in the tournament as well in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang so bit of value there at 25/1.
