Default Jerry Jones Vs The NFL

In a new ESPN The Magazine story by Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr., the Cowboys’ owner is quoted as having insulted Patriots owner Robert Kraft with a derogatory term when speaking with the NFL commissioner this past summer.

“I’m gonna come after you with everything I have,” Jones said to Goodell in August, according to the story. “If you think Bob Kraft came after you hard [for DeflateGate], Bob Kraft is a p—y compared to what I’m going to do.”

Well, Jerry Jones can take a long walk off a short pier....all of the back slapping he did with Roger a few years back, you can go swivel.

Jones threatening to sue the league would always be un-popular amongst all the other owners but when it comes to stopping Goodells extension in the proper way wonder if he has more support.

Jones is right that the league has some off the field issues that have not been handled well and to be in a rush to give Goodell a new 5 year deal with a massive pay rise does seem strange.Ratings are down for the 3rd year in a row and its not like the league is making massive new money as all the TV deals are locked in long term.

its not like Roger would be in demand in 18 months when his current deal runs out.

The issue is that when Goodell has been tough on players from some of the league's most high profile owners and teams, like Kraft and Jones, you can bet that plenty of other owners are thinking "you go, Roger!" and delighted to have a commissioner who stands up to the big names.

So after essentially declaring war on Goodell, a video of Jerry Jones making a racially insensitive remark gets released to the public. Not saying that Goodell was behind this, but I would suspect these two guys have enough dirt on the other to make this a very interesting fight if they decide to go to court and end up in battle over Goodell's position as commissioner and Jerry's position as Cowboys' owner.

Jones doesn't seem to have many friends in this in respect of the other owners.

The fact such moves have been made on the apparent back of the Elliott case screams sour grapes.

Jones has been grossly inconsistent on this. One week he's kneeling with his players, the following week he apparently demanding they should stand & its Goodells weakness on this he & his CEO buddies supposedly have an issue with

I try to avoid anything Jones related (hard when Fox are covering a Dallas game). He's a carbuncle on the rear of the NFL

I think Jones is a prick, and for that reason, I love seeing his sour faced puss’ when his ‘America’s team’ get royally pumped up the sphincter.

Go Roger.
