BAFA's priority tonight is probably the Great Britain women's team in the European Championship final.

But life goes on in the BAFA NL on Sunday – including the London derby in preparation for the North v South semi-finals.

Preview of all the Premier, Divison 1 and Divison 2 games on Double Coverage:

Quote:
NFC PREMIER - East Kilbride Pirates vs Sheffield Predators

We can’t understate the importance of this game to East Kilbride! Win and they’ll have a home game against (probably) their arch adversaries the London Blitz, whereas a loss will see them travel to (probably) the Warriors. If the road to Britbowl goes through Scotland, the Pirates will be in a much healthier position.
[...]

SFC PREMIER - London Blitz vs London Warriors

Another weekend, another division decider. The Blitz will have to put up a ton of points on a mean Warriors defence to have any hope of avoiding EKP in the first round of the playoffs. This is a Warrior’s defence gave the Blitz a good thumping last time around, not conceding a single point in the second half (and very few first downs). The only Blitz score came off a penalty riddled drive where the Warriors lost their discipline. It will be fascinating to see any Blitz adjustments to try and find a way to score.

Plenty of other games around the country this weekend.

In the current standings, the Premier conference leaders are the Tamworth Phoenix and the London Warriors.

Results in yesterday's Premier games, the last of the regular season:

East Kilbride Pirates 37,
Sheffield Predators 14

East Kilbride win the NFC Premier division.

London Blitz 13,
London Warriors 7

The Warriors (AFAIK) have won the SFC Premier. That will mean home advantage against Tamworth Phoenix in the semifinals.

The Blitz, finishing 2nd, will travel to East Kilbride for their semifinal next week.

I'll try to post details of every game that's happening next weekend.

Disappointment for Colchester in Division 1:

Quote:
Colchester Gladiators have withdrawn from the SFC 1 playoffs due to low player numbers. Ouse Valley Eagles have been promoted to the #3 seed and Hertfordshire Cheetahs will take the #4 seed. They will travel to Solent Thrashers and Farnham Knights respectively.

Yep, the Premier play-offs will be: Warriors v Tamworth, and East Kilbride v Blitz.

The final standings of the 2015 regular season, in full, are on this page:

Quite beautiful to read. I never knew there were so many teams!

I'll post as much info on the playoffs as I can gather before the weekend.

For now, well done to the regional champions in Division 1 - Merseyside Nighthawks and Farnham Knights.

And in Division 2 - West Coast Trojans (Glasgow), Manchester Titans, Sandwell Steelers, Bristol Apache, Kent Exiles, and Bury Saints (Bury St Edmunds).

BAFA National Leagues playoffs next weekend

In fact they begin on Sunday, August 23 – a big day of 11 games in England and 2 in Scotland. Might be worth checking out...

(Details in message #28/#29/#30)

That's the senior Premier semi-finals, Division 1 semis, and Division 2 quarter-finals. (Juniors the day before, I think.)

Plus one game is "approved" to be moved to Saturday, Aug 29: Edinburgh v Clyde Valley.

Quote:
Edinburgh’s home ground of Meadowbank is not available on 23rd August, and BAFA have approved this games move to Sat 29th August. The Wolves have earned a home game, through their playoff ranking, so BAFA Competition Management have authorised the use of new date

Looking further ahead:
