Default Brian Hoyer

This may be a redundant thread, I'm not sure. Correct me if I'm wrong but Hoyer is a FA at the end of this season?

Have any other teams shown interest in him or do we retain him? I guess it depends how ready the coaching staff feel Mallett is to assume the main backup position.

I think you've answered your own question. I'd expect to see him back on a 2 year deal perhaps

Perhaps. I think he's of starter calibre though. But Flynn is surely the premier backup to starter prospect this year.

Wouldn't mind seeing him going as Mallett probably has learnt enough about the playbook to be the back up. With Eldelman as emergency duties as per last year.

Is Hoyer good enough to warrant a shot at a starting job somewhere else?

I always forget Edelman was a college QB!

He could start somewhere, but then they'd suck. See Cassel, Matt.

That's my perspective on it. Compared to a current backup like Matt Flynn, Hoyer hasn't really done an awful lot.

Cassel isn't bad, he had a great year in 2008 here, then 2009 was shaky but 2010 was pretty damn good. Of course injuries have massively affected his season this year. Replace Tyler Palko with Cassel and the Chiefs win some extra games.

A healthy Cassel takes KC to the playoffs over Denver
