Solo

Much better than I feared. Pretty much a heist movie in the main, but nice mix of new & old characters, some old back stories explained and a sensible running time

7/10

^^^^^^

watched Solo this weekend while away visiting relatives up North.. we liked it.. as Crash 11 said, better than anticipated, I liked it.. a lot... I still have trouble getting used to seeing Emilia Clarke in anything other than GoT though..

I liked how it all tied together and gave some depth to some of the characters we know and love.. one aspect I did not enjoy and that was of the feminist, equal rights droid.. I would rather have had Jar Jar and that's saying something..

a god solid 7.5/10

Jumanji (2017)

Take a 90's family favourite, up date it to the modern age, with teens from each stereotypical strand (the Jock, the Babe, the Nerd, the gloomy one) and stick em in a jungle with famous actors then possessing their characteristics

Yeh, its as bad as it sounds

2/10
Kids gave it a 9 though (sigh)

i would say more a 5/6 a does what it says on the tin movie, that meets its goals.

also a bonus point for not just remaking the first one.

Have to go with GK on that one. Not exactly a memorable film, but it’s decent enough for what it is...

The Incredibles 2

Visually, it's stunning. The story significantly lets it down although the baby got some laughs

The accompanying Pixar short was a strange one

Spectre

On revisiting this, this latest Bond film is very dull. Moody Bond no match for Connery or even kitsch Moore. All style over substance

Default How It Ends

How it Ends with Forest Whitaker ... an aging former Marine and douche bag father and his potential (much disliked) son in law, need to go on a road trip to save/rescue, the daughter of said douche and love interest of said potential son in law..

so how does it end, end.. well not nearly fast enough.. look I am going to spoil this for you.. I've watched this steaming pile of celluloid rubbish so you don't have too..the acting is poor, the plot is poor, nothing is explained away and in less than 24 hours the world has been reduced to Mad Max beyond the thunderdome..

Netflix, the wrriters, producers, actors.. heck even the caterers should be ashamed of this movie.. look.. if you do watch it.. and I don't recommend it, you will be left thinking.. IS THAT IT!!!!?????!!!
