Doh! We cut Ben Gardner. Understandable when you consider who else we have, but I always hoped he'd do enough to make the final 53. I think his lack of 'elite' athleticism was his undoing. Perhaps he epitomises the saying 'hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard' - he'll work just as hard as everyone else, but he just doesn't have the natural talent to beat out the the other pass rushers in Dallas.

Hope he finds a team (or makes it back to our Practice Squad). Hopefully he doesn't end up in our division if he goes elsewhere though (Giants I'm looking at you).

Shane McDermott gone too. Bernadeau is the back up centre then.

Gus Johnson (Stephen F. Austin)
Ben Malena (Texas A&M)
Ray Agnew (Southern Illinois)
Clyde Gates (Abilene Christian)
Nick Harwell (Kansas)
A.J. Jenkins (Illinois)
Laurence Gibson (Virginia Tech)
Shane McDermott (Miami)
John Wetzel (Boston College)
Ronald Patrick (South Carolina)
Ben Gardner (Stanford)
Efe Obada (No College)
Donnie Baggs (Texas A&M)
Dekorey Johnson (Kansas State)
Joel Ross (Appalachian State)
Tim Scott (North Carolina)

Waived/Injured

Ka’Lial Glaud (Rutgers)
Rod Sweeting (Georgia Tech)

Reserve/Suspended

Greg Hardy (Mississippi)
Rolando McClain (Alabama)

Hopefully we manage to get a few of those guys onto the practice squad. Hardy and McClain didn't count against the 53 which help them keep a couple of guys who otherwise would have been cut. Still, surprised that they managed (chose) to keep 11 D linemen.

The Ravens released Terrance Magee, RB, LSU. The Cowboys should take a look at him if they can. He isn't going to break many long runs for TD's, but he finds a way to gain yards and he's ok as a blocker too. He put in some decent performances at the Senior Bowl iirc.

I wonder if Bob Lilly could still suit up?

That was my first thought when I read Tyrone Crawford has back issues that are keeping him out of camp and apparently has no timetable for return. The guy just got his rotator cuff fixed and now his back flares up!

This off season has been harsh to say the least. As things stand our starting D line could be Jack Crawford / Terrell McClain / Cedric Thornton / David Irving - with Charles Tapper and Ryan Russell in the mix too. Basically Cedric Thornton would be the only proven guy out there.
