Default CBS Coverage - Simms and Carey

Ok can anybody explain to me how Phil Simms and Mike Carey are employed by CBS to do what they do?

Simms can barely string a coherent sentence together let alone do analysis

Carey is the "rules expert" who gets the wrong call pretty much every single time.

And these buffoons will call super bowl 50 - god help our ears

I'm pretty sure one day Nantz is gonna flip - he was teetering when Simms felt the need to explain his "sleepless in Seattle" pun

Not related in general, but a comment regarding what seems like all commentators - wish I had a quid for everytime Derek Carr has been called David. I counted 6 last night .

Yes, making a drinking game out of it was not a good idea (helps to get through some of the bad games though).

Though I'm not a paid analyst, in fairness every time I think of/say/type .... Derek .... Carr I have to pause and think beforehand.

If you watch ESPN/CBS/FOX they all have guys who try to help with the officiating but the New York replay help is just causing so much inconsistency.in the redskins game they called a TD,the replay showed the guys knee down but the camera was not down the goaline so was not conclusive if the ball had broken the goal line but the booth over ruled the official on the goaline.A few weeks back the johnny football touchdown where the camera was yet again inconclusive but yet again over ruled.

I do like Jim Nantz though, feel he's very professional without being devoid of emotion. When something exciting happens he sells it unlike a lot of other play by play commentators. Butler's game winning play in the superbowl last year was so under sold by Al Michaels you'd think it was a meaningless play in garbage time.

I feel sorry for Jim Nantz, because Phil Simms is the worst announcer I've ever heard. Let alone football knowledge, he can barely talk.
