I must admit, I thought he was an All Pro. Crazy.

Neither one has even got as far as being a HOF semi finalist - the Last 25.

Mangold and D'Brick have a loooong way to go to be HOFers.

Ferguson has been an above average LT for about half his career. That's nowhere near HOF production.

Mangold's a different story - the best center in the league since he was drafted, 4 Pro Bowls, 3 All-Pro's - it's hard for them to get enshrined nowadays, but if he carries this on for another 4/5 years, he'll have as good a chance as any C of recent history.

Bumping up this old classic thread. How do we think this list would've changed over the last few years. Who should now be considered a lock and who should be on the radar in the long term future?

We can go team by team or position by position.

This was my list from Feb 2013. We should do an updated list for 2017. Quite a few of these players have since been elected.

It's great when old threads resurface. Interesting read. Loved the RB discussions.

This type of thread is perfect for the off-season and is a good example of the quality discussion we used to have here. It also follows on nicely from the All-Time Draft thread.

Lock, Yes, No, Maybe, HOVG or Too Early but on the right track (OTRT)? I have also only listed players who have been in the NFL for at least 5 seasons, so no Khalil Mack, Aaron Donald, OBJ or Johnny Manziel.

Quarterback is going to be a really interesting discussion as there will be a real log jam once the 2004 class retires.

Roethlisberger and Manning both have 2 rings but there is an argument to be had that Rivers delivered at a higher consistency than either (although I feel that argument had more power 5 years ago as Big Ben has really excelled in his later career).

You have to wonder how high the watermark is going to be to get into the HOF. Players like McNabb could well miss out where they may have got in before.
