I'm seeing UCONN mentioned again a bit. It would be good for keeping the basketball team relevant year after year but they are too far away and the football team is mostly horrible except for that one year I remember them being good.

Only issue with UTSA is that they are another Texas school. Baylor kicked up a huge fuss about TCU joining as it was another conference rival in their backyard for recruiting etc, they said the same recently when Houston were being touted.

Memphis have lobbied the Big 12 and I guess they're up and coming after Fuente's tenure.

I know Cincy are popular because it would help WVU with travelling. The Mountaineers have complained about travelling distance in sports outside of football and basketball. UConn would help but to a lesser degree in that regard.

Latest report from SB Nation has four teams strongly linked:

UConn, BYU, Cincinnati and Colorado State.

Just read a new one about Big-12 expansion. Rick Neuhiesel says he wouldn't be surprised if UCLA went to the big 12 to get out of the shadow of SC like Texas A&M moving to the SEC.

He did coach there could be insider knowledge

That would be a surprise, could see why it might make sense though.
