I like what san fran do. I think carter has shown that he has potential to be one of the leagues quality LBs. Allow him and lee to dominate in a fashion similar to bowman and willis. ware should be made use of in the same manner that aldon smith is - constant pass rush - his talent at doing that is too valuable to be pushed into any coverage.

i agree with the 3-4 and the 4-3 to an extent - IMO it's dependent on who needs more help (ratliff not being left alone in the middle or carter not being pushed wide and being allowed to continue to excel in a central role)

I'm not sure I'm convinced that (as per only rumours at present) that Monte Kiffin is the answer. Guy looked completely lost for USC's defense this season, to the point he removed himself.

Nick Eatman just tweeted this -

"Lots of action here at valley ranch .Nothing official - but does sound like former bears DC Rod Marinelli is on board to replace Brian Baker"

I'm loving this, if it happens. One of my biggest doubts about Kiffin was who replaces him if he suddenly decides to retire. He is 73 after all.

Anyway with Marinelli we get a a defensive assistant who this season coordinated a defense that led the league in turnovers. Also a possible successor to Kiffin as DC.

I'm happy with Marinelli. As long as we keep him away from the draft board!

Been doing a lot of reading around kiffin the past few days and how we could work the Tampa 2 - I really like what we are looking to do with the defence - more rigid and consistent is what this would suggest, especially with someone like Marinelli getting involved. Really pleased.

If we can make adequate on-field changes then next season could move towards a more exciting prospect

The giants have released Canty, Would he be worth another shot? or are the injury problems a bit of a warning to stay away.

Not for me, there is enough good ends in the draft this year.
