The ones with just the name of the state in their title are generally considered the flagships. I think UPenn is private which is probably why Penn State is more popular. There is probably some story as to why OSU is bigger than Ohio. Not sure there is a University of Louisiana.

According to midwestsportsfans.com:

In 1906 - 'The Eagleson Bill singled out Ohio State as the state’s premier research university and was likely responsible for the school’s invitation in 1912 to join the Intercollegiate Conference of Faculty Representatives, known informally as the Big Nine and later (when Michigan rejoined the conference in 1917) as the Big Ten.

Membership in the Big Ten put Ohio State’s football team and athletics program in a class with national powers such as Minnesota and Illinois and Chicago (sounds funny now, doesn’t it?), further setting OSU apart from Ohio’s other state universities.

In 1946 Ohio University would become a founding member of the Mid-American Conference. Miami would join the MAC the following year. Both schools have been there ever since.

Despite being excluded by Ohio legislators a century ago, Ohio and Miami Universities have become highly esteemed institutions that offer a wide array of graduate programs; but both missed the opportunity to become the state’s flagship school. That distinction, thanks to Rutherford B. Hayes, James E. Campbell, and dozens of nameless Ohio legislators, belongs to the Ohio State University.'

So politics explains OSU dominance to some extent.

Starting to think it's destiny that I support the cornhuskers. Can you imagine a more perfect heartbreaking ending for a Scottish Jet fan than losing on a hail mary.

After week 1 i'm thinking that following Georgia purely based on the connection with the Falcons might be a mistake.

Auburn are leading the list of teams at the moment but that'll probably change as the weeks go on.

When do they normally announce KO times for games?

I generally had three weeks before in my head but still no announcement for the Aggies neutral site game with Arkansas in 15 days.

They are wearing special "Aggie Nights" blackout uniforms for South Carolina game complete with glow in the dark helmets. Would be pretty funny if they end up playing in daylight.

If CBS gets it then 3:30 ET. But Tennessee-Florida and Mississippi St-Auburn are the other choices, so it obviously depends on results the next two weeks. If not then ESPN will have it at 12 ET or 7 ET
