Default Hard to follow threads

Hi,

Just a suggestion... but would it be worth people starting new threads for new topics, within the Dolphins section of this forum. It's quite hard to catch up on what's going on in the 'fins fans opinion' thread if you can't get online often enough.

Just a thought

Don't mean to sound harsh, but you have been here a month and you want to call the shots on a thread that has run for nearly 10 years?

These days there are quite a few new threads posted, the main one doesn't get posted on too quickly, it's more of a state of the Dolphins thread as it stands, with others for specific stuff. Feel free to make a new threads if you think something needs one.

The top thread harks back to the days when there were no individual team forums

If there are biggish stories or topics you want to talk about then they are often posted in the main the Phins forum, and like Dupes says... feel free to start new topics.

But if its stuff that does not merit it's own thread, it tends to go in the Phins Fans opinions thread. And TBH... like Paul says, us long timers are quite attached to our thread!!

It's been the most popular on the forum since the beginning!

The main fins threads is what's needed for day to day stuff that's happening.

When something big happens then a thread of its own is merited.

Tbh there's too many threads about pretty humdrum stuff that clogs up the Dolphins section which would be better suited to the general Phins Fans...thread

Yes i have been signed up only a month and no I'm not 'calling the shots'. It was a simple constructive post, maybe a constructive response like the rest of these guys would have been suitable.

Try supporting new members to the forum rather than talking down on them. Could end up with more members then perhaps...

I wasn't meaning to talk down, hence why I prefaced my post with the term 'don't mean to sound harsh' . Also on reflection, using the phrase 'calling the shots' was not entirely accurate.

All I really meant was the same as others have since said. The Phins thread has served a purpose for nearly 10 years and there has never really been an issue. That's not to say things can't change, but as others have said, there seems little need for other threads unless it's a major talking point.

Again, I don't wish this to come across the wrong way (but no doubt it will), but in response to your comment about existing members supporting new members, is there not an equal case to suggest that new members should perhaps respect longer time fans and try and fit into what happens, rather than looking to change long established tradition?

I was always taught if someone says 'I am sorry but' or I dont mean to sound harsh but' ignore everything said before the but as whatever follows is the truth of where they are at. Pavlov I didnt see this new poster as 'calling the shots' .. as for change and 'established tradition' well challenging the status quo is part of life is it not - sometimes new eyes see things old ones dont.. even if it is not right - there are ways to respond and I certainly dont feel your way was best on this occasion and you yourself acknowldge that some of your posts are taken the wrong way - you can be (like me actually) rather outspoken and so open to flak - goodness knows I have had my fair share too - its what comes of having strong opinions and character
