Detroit absolutely dominated that game, but basically lost because of their lack of efficiency on the powerplay. If they were efficient on the PP, they would've wrapped up this series already, instead - they're facing elimination.

Exactly right,Detroit did all the work. The Ducks just got damn lucky.

I'm not a big Red Wing fan,but I desperately want them to win and get into the Stanley Cup finals.

Grr, the Ducks have made it through. I'm just praying that they get pummled by Ottawa now. Some of their players need to lose their attitudes and a good beating by Chris Neil or Brian McGrattan should do the trick. ;D

What an incredibly exciting 3rd period that was.
Even the Duck fans sounded loud.
For a minute I thought the Wings were close to tying it,they were coming on real strong in the 3rd.But it was not to be. :'(

Brian Leetch has officially announced his retirement from professional hockey. After 18 years and 10 All Star games he's had a great career and has put up some awesome numbers over the years. It's sad to see him go but at least he decided it and not an injury. He's always going to be remembered as one of the great defensemen of our time.

Well folks, the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals has been and gone and it was a good one. The Ducks won by one goal but if every game is as close as last night's then it's going to be a cracking series!

Ottawa: 2
Anaheim: 3

The Ducks really stole one last night but the Sens were guilty of too many giveaways and they got punished for them. I do feel that if the Sens can win a game on the road, this series could be over, since I can't see the Ducks winning in Ottawa.
