As an avid Heat fan this year is just remarkably depressing, I was watching the Heat/Celtics game the other day and almost cried.

This is highway robbery from the Lakers. They gave up absolutely nothing when compared to what they got. 2 Excellent and equaly quality moves; getting Gasol and getting rid of Kwame.
And for the draft picks, they are both going to be low first rounders anyway. I just dont understand the move from Memphis's perspective. They are stacked at the guard position with Lowery and Conley Jr. so Critterion wont be getting much playing time anyway.

Well, the Grizzles are in full on rebuilding mode now. It makes sense because Brown's contract expires after this season and Gasol makes over 15 million the next 3 years.

Wouldn't be surprised if Jerry West played a part in this much like McHale did in the Garnett trade

Great trade. Suprised Memphis made it. Good move by Lakers and the compensation sounds great as well. Gasol and Kobe will be an interesting mix.

In the most non sensical trade I have ever seen,
Shaq to the Suns in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks.
The most versatile player there is for the least versatile.
A player with 2 years left in him for one with half his career to go.
The best run and gun team there is getting a player who does the exact opposite
The only reason I can think at the minute for this is that PHX realise they are stacked already, but might need Shaq in the playoffs.

If you're a Laker's fan, this might be one of the best weeks in the last 5 or 6 years. Firstly, you bring in one of the better big men in the league, and your rivals trade away their best defensive player for a guy who is clearly washed up and at the end of his career.

This trade honestly makes no sense whatsoever.

Riley is an absolute genius. Trades for Shaq wins a title the next year then now he trades him when everyone thinks he has no value. From a Heat perspective bringing in one of the best run the floor player in the game and a 1st team all Defensive player to go alongside Wade and possibly Beasley makes them an actual threat to Boston and Detroit next season.

But from a Phoenix point of view this makes no sense. I know Marrion consistently wanted to be traded but it's obvious how much Steve Kerr pannicked when he saw the Lakers move for Gasol

After hearing this trade the first thing I could think of was YEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Shawn Marion provides a great outside shooting presence, and a great side dish for Wade. Shaq was old, banged up and killing the team salary. An awesome trade for the Heat, what the fudge were the Suns thinking?
