Can not tell you if playing Russell would be a good idea or bad idea as everyone is different; look at Troy Aikman with the Dallas Cowboys in his first year!

But it is the time where Russell is going to start getting some gametime, and learning about what the NFL is all about.

Look like Walter is the backup QB for the Viking game; should have least started him; what have we got to lose

RUSELL hell its not as if we will reach the playoffs

Good extract from the Knapp article today.

-----

On Sunday, he had a chance to give the rookie a relatively low-pressure debut. With 1:35 left and the Bears up by 11 points, the Raiders had no hope of winning the game. The Bears wouldn't have been rushing with their usual ferocity, reducing the possibility of injury while allowing Russell to see a slightly slower version of an NFL game.

A pretty stupid article. I hope its not Greg Knapp writing. What would you learn about Russell putting him in 1' 35" from the end of a dead game.

Culpepper is a better player than Walter, neither are worthy of future consideration. That's why Walter isn't starting.

Chris Mortensen is reporting JR is penciled to start his first game Dec 2 against the Broncos.

I presume he's basing that mostly on a prediction that neither Culpepper or McCown will get anything done against the Vikes and Chiefs before then.

It makes sense if that prediction comes true, however if either vet can win a game and look good I think we'll wait a little longer before JR gets a game.

One thing I like about JR is that he seems sincere and earnest on the sideline.

He said it was news coming out of the Raiders camp and that Culpepper will start the next two games.

Well it won't happen if we win our next two, because even if we do know we suck no team is simply going to just give up because the schedule looks difficult.

So right now it can't be called certain. Well, not unless you want to say us losing is certain....I wouldn't blame you if you did, so fire away.

If the Raiders are 2-9 by the time they meet the Broncos; then it would be a good time to start Russell for learning purpose for the next year as he should be the starter for the 2008 season.
