One final point (that we all knew already) - As good a performance as it was from Crolla, that Hearn card was an abomination.

The man has now tipped over to the point that he's damaging British boxing - not helping it.

To be fair, he's largely got there by being Barry's son. Nepotism very rarely produces positive long term results in any walk of life

It was poor but in Hearns defence sky have to take some of the blame for it, they want more and more boxing but having an exclusive deal with just one promoter spreads the pool of genuinely watchable talent pretty thin.

At least there is just boxing on the undercard rather than the guff Germans have to sit through, 3 or 4 boxing matches interspersed with x-factor rejects doing karaoke and third rate comedians.

What's the deal with this 155/160lbs issue that surrounds Alvarez as a 'middleweight'?

Has he fought at 160? or does he always fight at 155?

If he wants to fight at 155 so be it, just let the other guy weigh in up to 160.

I get that bigger fighters will find it harder to get down to 155 rather than 160, and Alvarez is slightly smaller than someone like GGG, but is 5lbs that big of an issue for him/them?

Catch weight is my biggest bugbear in boxing these days, though last night the blame is with khan's camp they wanted the lower weight as he was coming up a big step in weight.

Alvarez has the metabolism to put a lot of weight back on after cutting, most people were saying he was around 170+ by the time he got in the ring. Catch weight is being used to protect guys rankings as more and more fighters are having interdivisional fights to generate $$$ without risking belts or rank.

Alvarez v GGG has to happen this summer or 2016 will be an entirely irrelevant year in boxing.

its a shame Khan couldnt stick one in the pipe of all the needless people who hate on him.

decent showing but the predictable thing happened.

hopefully he can get another fight of a decent level, after showing he is willing to take the risk.

Yeah, don't honestly think Khan will ever take on Brook. Which would be a real shame, as it's the fight everyone wants to see...

he will take him on when his the biggest fight he can get

Khan took on an impossible fight, he pretty well until he met the power.

its the fight people in Brook fans in England might want

Brook is a joke. He's the IBF champ and spends his time calling out Khan and fighting his mandatory. He needs to start fighting and beating the top tier fighters (hes only fought porter) and then the Khan fight is easy to get made.

Love him or hate him Khan fights and is willing to fight the best. Brook needs to stop wasting his career.

Hearn fighters earn a lot of money for minimal risk. They seldom get risked in 50/50 fights.

I fear the time for Khan/Brook may have passed.

Khan has pretty much shot down any chance of a fight against Brook ever happening earlier today. Looks like he's dead set on continuing to be knocked out by the "bigger" names instead...
