Default John Brown Hype

Since we drafted this kid and I got to reading about the sort of player he is, the comparisons to the likes of TY Hilton (one of my favourite non-Cardinals) and how we could use him in his rookie year, it's hard to not be impressed by how much everyone is already talking about him in the early days of Training Camp.

Yes, it is only Training Camp and it's not like that matters much in the long run (Stephen Williams is one which comes to mind) - but everyone's talking about him, the coaches are impressed by him and he's already made a few stand-out plays against the likes of Bethel and many other Cardinals. Think I also read that even Peterson has had his struggles when covering him!

Usually I'm against the hype but I think I'm willing to buy in on the John Brown hype that is currently sweeping the nation.

Now...can he do it against opposition in real game situations?

If he does, we've got a top player in our hands for years to come.

Certainly looks the real deal... but after only 2 days of work with the pads on, anything can change, hopefully he can have a little shine in a preseason game and then be something for opposing D's to think about going into the season which would be great for Ellington allowing him even more room to run if the field is well streched... i really can see our offence taking charge this season and ripping other teams to bits. just aslong as Palmer can keep that INT ratio down from last year cause he wont have as much help from out D this year :/

I'm caught up in the hype too. With the Cards taking a blocking Tight End, they are going to need the 3rd receiver to be productive. Hopefully he lives up to the speculation.

Anything I hear from camp, unless its injury or discipline related, I simply ignore, completely. I will believe it when I see it from September onwards.

A particular strand of the cynicism gene its' Latin name is - MaximusHallitis.

But you are right. Sansom was pulling up trees not so long ago, until the season started.
