This is a kind of Madden situation here. I think Fitzgerald would cost way too much, and I don't see Arizona being too willing to trade him unless they get a QB in the deal. Either they stick with Skelton, and they need weapons like Fitz for him, or they go out and find a decent starter.

It's too much to give up, no way does BB even go looking for a deal.

Depends on the Patriots costs.

I have to say if the Pats traded for Fitz the offense would be unbelievable.

I think it's definitely worth considering as Fitz is only 27 and still has a pretty long future in the game. I also think the Cardinals are going to want at least a 1st and a 3rd (bare minimum). The question for me is do can we really afford to trade the 17th pick and probably our second 2nd rounder for Fitz when the defense has some holes.

We desperately need some pass rush from our OLB's and I think we have to draft one in the 1st round; we also need a DE that can rush the QB aswell (a la Richard Seymour).

Just a thought I had, would any of you trade the 17th pick and Welker for Fitzgerlad??

Why on earth do people want to trade Welker?! Without him, our offence would change entirely. Edelman cannot carry the load yet - But I think in 2-3 years time, he may be the future.

Also, why pick 17? We have two 1st rounders - Pick 28 is what I'd give up, plus whatever else they want except 33 and 17, as long as it's not most of our draft. Give them frickin' Mankins plus picks! We ain't keeping him anyway, and at $10m next season (Franchise value for OL), he's not worth it...tag and trade, pile on a few picks, get us a young WR for the next 6+ years

My offer is simply Logan Mankins, Brandon Meriweather and pick 28. If - and only if - they don't want Meriweather, I'll say I'll give them our 1st from next year. Yeah...Mankins, and two firsts for Larry. But only if we can discuss contracts with him beforehand.

Do people just want to trade Welker because he led the league in drops ?

He wasn't back to his full self this year, neither was Brady in 2009.

Maybe 2nd and 5th this year and a pick from next year on how he/we play, 3rd if he makes Pro Bowl, 2nd if we reach the play offs and a first if we win the SB.

There's more too it than that I think. He's in the last year of his contract and the Pats always like to get value in that situation if there's no extension talks (Seymour) and then there were a few comments Wes made post-game. I hope he's back though.

I can't see the Pats trading Welker, its not like he is acting out like Moss. I think Brady would be fuming if Welker went. His production isnt dramatically decreasing if at all and i think he wants to be a Patriot, does strike me as the sort of guy to demand big money etc.

It would be madness to trade away Welker.

I thought Brady looked lost without Wes in the embarassing loss to the Ravens last year.
