Seriously, how can someone be so bad a year after you hired them?
seems his relationship with Bill O'Brien played a part in it.all eye's now on Nick Caserio who they tried to interview last time they had no GM but then the Patriots said no.

teams can pro-rate signing bonus over 5 years so what ever Wentz got in his extension some can be added to his 2019/20 cap numbers which cover the last year of his rookie deal/5th year option.

he had a cap number of $8mish for 2019 and $22mish for 2020 so they can add 1/5th of his signing bonus to each year and save some cap space in the later years of his deal.

Yeah, I get how the pro-rating bonuses works, just wasn't sure if that was what various outlets were getting at quoting the figures including 2019 and 2020 because no one was explicitly saying it. Thanks for confirming it was. We have $22m in cap space, Jenkins wants a new deal and Howie likes having a bit of space for trade deadlines deals so will be interesting to see how much goes on this year.

The Jets allowed their 3rd choice Head Coach to sack their GM. We can safely assume rational thinking doesn't come into their decision making proces

Douglas does seem to have a good resume and worked with Gase before in Chicago but as you say who knows that if Gase doesn't last maybe a high profile HC candidate may want his GM as part of any deal.

so the local DA has said there is no on going cases involving Tyreek Hill so the league can now push on with its investigation and announce any possible punishment in there own time.

The Jets are apparently considering giving ESPN analyst Todd McShay a Front Office roll.

I'm guessing this rumour doesn't become a reality, but if it did it wouldn't fill me with confidence if I was a Jets fan.

But it would be typical Jets if they did it, so I won't be surprised if it happens.
