Hi guys,
I may have an answer for Q005.
Sniffing network traffic, I have these data for the NFL Network stream:

#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=106272,CODECS="mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=267732,RESOLUTION=256x144,CODECS="av c1.64000c,mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=369932,RESOLUTION=384x216,CODECS="av c1.64000d,mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=523232,RESOLUTION=384x216,CODECS="av c1.64000d,mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=727632,RESOLUTION=512x288,CODECS="av c1.640015,mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=1085282,RESOLUTION=640x360,CODECS="a vc1.64001e,mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=1545232,RESOLUTION=768x432,CODECS="a vc1.64001e,mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=2362832,RESOLUTION=1024x576,CODECS=" avc1.64001f,mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=3640315,RESOLUTION=1280x720,CODECS=" avc1.64001f,mp4a.40.2"
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=4968882,RESOLUTION=1600x900,CODECS=" avc1.640028,mp4a.40.2"

Plesae note, the last one was added the day before yesterday and is available also for the HOU-CAR stream, so it appears to be a work in progress. Perhaps a full HD stream is coming (well the winter sure is ) as advertised.

Hope this help.

Noticed this last night when watching the network via kodi gamepass add on (not illegal streaming). The max above is already better than last year. Maxed out at 4500000 last year compared to 4968882 this year.

Thanks Packer Ste, I have updated the Airplay / Apple TV Question.

Thanks tix68. I am not sure if there is any legal definition of Full HD, as in there may be for TV manufacturers but not for broadcasters. At least it does seem to run at 5Mbps, which if it holds would mean no downgrade over previous quality.

That's the thing: 'Full HD' only tells you something about the resolution, not the bitrate. For something to be called 'Full HD', it needs to have a height of 1080 pixels. I believe it's not an official standard, but the only resolution that has been associated with the term 'Full HD' for the last 10 years is 1920x1080.

HD ready: 1280x720
Gamepass: 1600x900
Full HD: 1920x1080

and still being ignored by them as well, just have to see whats on offer come start of season but honestly with all the payment screw up's thats more worrying now rather than the lack of full hd. total shambles.

On android, the hall of fame game looks OK quality wise, but the week 1 games so far looks (and sounds) like crap. Both on my phone and casting to my TV. Anyone else?

Q003

If your browser uses the Diva player, you can use left or right arrow keys to move 10 seconds backward or forward. It does not work with the new Flash player.

Q005 update

A new stream appears in the Chromecast and ConnectedTV manifest (at least for the DAL-LA game):

#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=6246432,RESOLUTION=1920x1080,CODECS= "avc1.640028,mp4a.40.2"

It is not available using a web browser, Diva Player use HLS manifest, Flash PLayer use IIS manifest, both manifests are missing the full HD stream.
Latest Kodi addon from master uses the Chromecast manifest so you can watch this stream without the Google dongle.

Q003. What is the Diva player, and why would I need this rather than the app? Also how would I then +/-10 on Chromecast?

Q005: Thanks for info, I will also update with their tweet which claims 1080p
