Im lookig forward to seeing more of Hester on Offence... Forte running the ball... Mike Brown back on the field... Orton throw som 2 yard passes when we need 5 for a 1st down... Same old ![]() Bears to win 27-21
Guys... was I the only one to think we could do it last night?? What impressed me was we didnt need Hester to win... Orton finished with a 83 QB rating... would more than take that by seasons end... O Line was superb... D Line even better... that Marcus Harrison is a total beast!!! Bring on the Panthers ![]()
Yes! You may well be! I thought we would go 3 and out all night and the 'D' would have to concede ground to a Colts team with more than we could handle. We are going to get smacked in the mouth next week. If we give up less than 120yrd on the ground I shall start feeling a lot more positive. |

People love to get excited in week one but one thing history has shown is that it's all a mystery until at least week 4. There is usually one team who does better than everyone expects and that could be the Bears. but it might not be either. I'm pretty certain that one of the teams that looked great this week will be terrible next week and vice-versa.
I don't think there is anything wrong with being realistic at this time of the year. |

Well a fantastic result beating the Colts. I think all in all it was a great day but I think it's wise not to read too much into it either. there were some pleasant surprises and some things we just do well as a team. Having said that here is what I thought last night: we can be successful on offence as long as we establish the run. I really dread playing the Vikings. Orton's job is to prevent turnovers The Colts' O-line is on verge of shambolic. In 06 they had Glenn, Saturday, Scott as the three best linemen all were gone for differing reasons last night and the Colts were weak. Ugoh looked overmatched vs bull rushes. If Bob Sanders is deep you can run like hell on the Colts. If he's in the box throw the ball. With everyone healthy the Bears D is as good as any in the NFL I have always thought we have the best when all are healthy but stats never show it since they spend so much time on the field. Matt Forte can run and catch. I still don't think we should be getting carried away but I intend to bear (mind the pun) some of these things in mind and look at them again in week 4. I really wouldn't fancy us against a team that is solid vs the run but time will tell.
Great result and I think Orton can do more in this scheme as well as our receiving corps. Even allowing for the Colts injuries on the o-line the Bears D still stepped up and put pressure on AND made plays which is a good portent for the season. We outplayed the Colts in their house which is no mean feat. |

Hello all,
First chance I've had to get online since before last weekend (been in Spain) Saw the game over there, can't really add much to what has been said, although I was blown away by the level of commitment that was shown. Lets look on the bright side of things already, we've already at least matched our 1-15 record that a few outsiders were predicting ;D Watching the Packers/Vikings game, I think our division is wide open this year. |

The loss of Rex Grossman could be the best thing to happen to the Bears, he should'nt be with a team of Bears quality

The loss of Rex Grossman could be the best thing to happen to the Bears, he should'nt be with a team of Bears quality
Neither should Orton. How on earth did we beat the Colts? Being realistic Orton and Grossman wouldn't make a good QB between them. The WR core don't look up to much and before his ONE good game Forte wasn't supposed to be anything special. I'm astounded, long may it continue. |

Well said. I can't understand why the Bears never made a move for Chad Pennington, he's not ideal but at least he's better than what we've got.
