Bears | Azumah will retire
Wed, 22 Mar 2006 17:15:50 -0800

John Mullin, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears CB Jerry Azumah will be retiring because of an arthritic hip condition that flared in training camp and cost him the best part of his 2005 season. As noted earlier, the Bears will hold a news conference Thursday, March 23, to announce Azumah's plans.

Sad day, all the best Zoom :'(

despite what some may say, Griese is a good solid signing that we do need, i'm sure i speak for most of use, when i wish him the best of luck for his and our season ahead.
now where is that big play TE we so so need?

yes but with the games hell gain confidense i think the w/l ratio is a posotive too build on i do respect your opinion but that is mine
[/quote]Orton got progressively worse and was pulled due to sucking, that is just a fact like it or not.

If you don't perform on the field then you expect to be pulled. Even he knew he was getting worse. When he saw Rex was dressed against Tampa he started looking over his shoulder and while competition usually bolsters an individuals performance, he nosedived. His stats the following week against the Pukers were lousy. Sorry, but anyone who plays as bad as he did in a game against that scum better get out of the way fast.

Orton owes those Ws on his record as a result of the running game and the defense. Sorry, but Orton doesn't deserve to be the number two based on the performance of others regardless of how many wins the team won with him. Da Bears won despite him, not because of him.To his credit, he didn't cause us to lose games (discounting his five pick performance against Cincy) which was as result of rather than circumstance.

I like Rex, always have (though I still wish we'd taken Leftwich) and I think Orton is a pretty good prospect as long as he does something about his mechanics. But Griese is way ahead of the pack on the roster on pretty much every level. The only factor in question is whether the O will respond to his leadership in the same way as they do with Rex. If he can garner the same confidence level and self belief he'll be number one on the roster come September IMO.
