Way to keep new posters on here. Give the guy a break. :
Is there any chance you could make a post without the use of that arrogant, patronising rolleyes smily?

If a kid comes on a forum and posts on the Bengals thread one day how he is a new fan and how he wants help and advice, then the very next day he does the exact same thing on the Ravens thread, he is bound to get some stick.
Sorry but he's finding a team. It's rediculous, everyone moans how American football is an underground sport in the UK, and if a new fan says anything wrong or hasnt set his eyes on one team everyone drives him out of the website.
I'm sure you didn't decide on your team a few days into discovering NFL, give him a break.
I didn't decide on a team until about 25 years of watching the NFL!

As older posters remember I paraded a Texans helmet for a while until I finally decided the jaguars were the team for me. The difference is I didn't go around shouting from the rooftops about one team one day, and then a completely different team the next.
Wow, surely after watching it for 25 years you grew a liking to one team? Why after all that time support a new franchise? (First Texans then Jags?)

And i know, but he's a new member here, he doesn't know how to act etc, people shouldn't be throwing him stick and abuse as he's just getting the hang of the forum and NFL in general. If he's being an all-out prat then sure, but i cant' see him doing anything that bad atm
Firstly let's not over react, nobody has abused anyone here, just a few harmless digs.

Secondly, when I say fan, I do mean quite casual. I first saw a game on TV when I was seven because I lived in the USA for a couple of years, but to be fair I didn't really understand it and was more of a baseball fan as I was able to play for a team over there at that age.

On returning to England, I did get into the C4 in the early 80's, but as we had no internet and nothing more than an hour's highlights it was hard to become a hardcore fan of any one team. I suppose if anything I may have liked the Oilers due to living in Houston and the Dolphins because I liked Marino and the Marks brothers.

However over the years my interest waned as C4 lost the coverage to Sky and I didn't have access to Sky as a young adult, being a poor student and all. :'(

By the time I got back into it a few years back, the Oilers were no more (well technically they are the Titans, but it's not the same) and Marino was about finished, so I had no team.

Upon signing up for the forum I chose the Texans avatar again due to the Houston connection. I did make a feeble attempt to follow them properly, but after watching regularly for a while, I became more enamoured with Jacksonville's smashmouth style.

Before people call me a bandwagoner, I would point out the "switch" came after Houston had a fairly respectable 7-9 record in their 3rd season and many were tippiong them for a wild card the next year (which of course fell flat on it's face)

Not sure I get this, I was the one making light hearted comments and have just apologized if the digs went too far.

It's people like JTracey and Marshy who seem to be getting their knickers in a twist over this, maybe it's they who need to chill out.

why isnt this being discussed in the AFC North thread? its where we have posted for years, me since i got on the site 18 or so months ago.

we dont need or want our own thread, the banter and discussion in the AFC North thread is good enough, and this likely wont catch on because of this.

if you want discussion about the Ravens, do it in that thread, where we all will post regularly. its where i find out most of the recent news etc etc and debate the current state of our team, and how we currently happen to be the AFC North champs, and how we are better than the steelers, and the bengals, and the browns...

so anyways pal, dont need a ravens thread, theres a better and more popular one out there
