Ultimate Warrior was my favourite wrestler (don't forget I was only 9 or 10 years old) and I despretley wanted him to win as I would have been gutted if the warrior would have had to retire. The match it's self was pretty amazing and still good to watch today. Then there was the whole Elizabeth thing at the end. That brought a tear to my eye:'(

Good post, Blue_Moon - I can respect that. Have you seen the match again lately?
[/quote]

have seen it quite recently (about a year ago), I've got the wrestlemania 1-15 box set so I dig them out every now and then. I still loved the match although admittedley I may have been a little biased my my childhood memories of the match.

I think my three top moments all came when my three all-time fave's won their first world title's:

Jericho over Rock in late 2001
Eddie over Lesnar in Feb 2004 in San Fran
Benoit over HHH in March 2004

We're all entitled to our childhood bias's, Blue_Moon! I think it's a good thing!

I'm still a huge mark for the Dynamite Kid. That guy was fricking awesome in every single way!

His stuff from Japan and Stampede in the early 1980's holds up to anything you can put forward from any single era. And it still holds up today as classic matches which is the ultimate hallmark of greatness.

Great post - I agree completely, DP! Kid versus Tiger Mask gave us some of the greatest matches of all time and as you say, Kid's work still holds up today and oozes class and excellence. 8)

Ok Question who ??? from Smackdown should be in Money in the bank. I said Matt Hardy SuperCrazy/London and becuase I couldn't find a good mid-carder not in a match Simon Dean for comedy effect.

Dynamite Kid is one of my all time favourites too, the first I remember of him was tagging with Davey Boy Smith in the WWF. I have since seen a lot of his earlier stuff on TWC etc and he was a great. Also the early stuff I've seen of Owen on TWC was impressive. Not a name that is always top of peoples great lists but I rate him amounst that type of company.

I always thought if Owen had been older than Bret he would have been in Bret's position and achieved what he did and vice versa with Bret. They were so similar and so very skilled, I cant help but think Owen missed out somewhat.

AS for the Smackdown MITB participants, I really am struggling. The only name in the mid-card that I even think is worthy of a title shot in the next year is Kennedy but I believe he's still on the shelf.

Matt Hardy's been buried since he came back and I dont take him seriously any more. He'll probably be one of the three but he's simply there as a bump machine.
Would Animal be in? That will be truly frightening.

Only other name is one I would really like to see and thats Paul Burchill. Pirate or not this guy can go and could steal the show.

Perhaps, saying as I dont think its been announced yet, Booker and Boogeyman might be being considered. I hope not. Alongside Flair that could be embarrassing.

A final thought. Saying as there is no tag teams for them to fight, it would be good to see the two best players on Smackdown - MNM in it.

It's a crime that London / Kendrick / Nova aren't utilised more by WWE. :'(
