WHY??
Thats the first clever decision Newcastle have made!

Kinnear took a bunch of mostly talentless bums at Wimbledon and created a team-ethic and spirit that was second to NOBODY!
If there is one thing Kinnear can do, its get a team playing together......and thats the one thing Newcastle need right now!

Newcastle need more than a manager that hasn't managed in the top flight for nearly a decade and anywhere at all for 4 years to sort out their problems.

The fact that the players know he's only going to be there for a few weeks also won't help him, there will not be the same motivation to play for a guy that they know won't be there when the next transfer window opens. At the end of the day Kinnear will have no say over there future except in the short term.

He maybe able to bring some kind of temporary peace to the club but until all this takeover business is complete nothing major is going to change.

Do you seriously think the Newcastle players will respect and respond to Kinnear? And on that same note and working the other way, do you seriously think Kinnear can connect with those players? Because I really don't. He hasn't coached in the top flight in over a decade, he hasn't coached at all in four years and he's very little experience of football since the vast, vast in flux of money. These guys now are primadonna's who are so far up their own backsides it must hurt.

He took a bunch of talentless thugs, took them out for a fight and occassionally a football game broke out. That won't work anymore, though I guess Danny Guthrie will have his ideal form of football now, he can really express himself as he did the other week against Hull.

Absolutely dreadful desperation hire.

Newcastle are obviously in a real, real state, and proof that fan groups trying to run a club, or one fan in the case of Ashely is a proper no-go.

He employed Keegan, who openly admitted hadn't watched game of football for 3 years. So he probably still thought Shearer was on the squad at Newcastle and Liverpool were European Champions. He employed him because as a fan, not as a footballing decision, Keegan was the 'messiah', the 'god', etc etc and who the fans wanted as the manager. They took no consideration into the fact that Keegan was not fit to manage a club in League 2 nevermind the Premiership. Then the man who could have turned Newcastle into one of the top teams around with his billions does the sensible thing in connection with Keegan and he leaves. Time to get in a proper football manager and start again with his m(b)illions? No, he gets forced into a situation by the fans, of which he is one, and bottles it, puts the club on the market. That has lead to him employing another managerial nobody in Kinnear for a few games only because he knows that the people he sells to are gonna re-employ Keegan and they will be back to square 1.

Dont think thats very fair to be honest Stockers. A one off, childish, frustration built, hack at someone, that was in all honesty disgusting and deserved a longer ban than it got, and people are labelling him in the same category as some of the dirtiest players around. From what I saw of him at Liverpool Res, and Bolton thats not his game and the situation, combined with a moment of madness led to his horrible hack at Fagan.

Dont get me wrong I arent trying to defend his hack the other week, but saying that his game I think is very harsh indeed.

Used to have the greatest respect for Kevin Keegan, but some of that has gone since he stood by Joey Barton, true a manager should always stand by his players, but Barton is the exception to this rule, what about his victims ?
