Quite right. No money, not had a chance to get his own players in, coming in after an offseason where the team's previous identity had been ripped out of the club.

I'd say he'd be doing a fabulous job just keeping them up over the next 2 years.

Your right. But from the days when they used to battle with United for the title they still feel like a big club and are a tad overambitious

Some might, but the 3 I know were/are happy enough playing PL football.

Just been on Citys Paper Rumours section

http://www.mcfc.co.uk/default.sps?pa...11&toyear=2008

Podolski - wants to leave bayern
Diarra - almost done deal....?
Bridge - ???? When you consider below.
Cole - better than Bridge OBV!
Turner - being a bit silly now.
Kaka - GET SEASON TICKETS NOW!

Seems like city are being linked with everyone and anyone, that usually means we will end up with no one!

I know this will end up with 100 replies saying city will only be good with money and all that rubbish but i dont care!

I think city will make plenty of signing because this situation is a bit of an oddity where other clubs who have received investment have still had limitations but the group investing in City seem to be doing it purely for the entertainment value. In football money talks and if you are willing to pay over the odds to both the player and his club there is every chance they sign whoever they want within reason.

I doubt they will get many of the above names because Mark Hughes is no idiot and many of those names are simply not appropriate or much better than what they have.

I strongly doubt they will get Kaka, certainly not in January but you just never know with all of the money they have.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went after Podolski or Schwiensteiger (although I suspect he may go to Madrid along with Arshavin in Jan) both of whom have expressed an interest in leaving Bayern.

They really need a striker and I wonder how long it will be before names like Benzema crop up. City certainly appear to have the resources.

They can only sign guys who are out of European competitions, a guy like Kaka wont come to city midseason while his team is playing well domestically. and is still in with a chance of european glory. Same for Davis Villa etc etc.

And then next summer they will have to find guys who are willing to give up European football for a year ( unless they win the uefa cup and are defending champions).

Would guys like Kaka, and Villa really want to play a 2nd season in a row out of the CL while they are in thier prime?

Its going to be tough for them to attract top drawer talent.

The seasons not over yet, you cant possibly suggest we are completely out of champions league contendership. especially with january spending a certainty
