Alex Marvez reporting on Twitter that a source has said the deal averages $18M for the first three years.

Sounds about market value to me...
Top marks for the Bears for getting that wrapped up in my book

I was just going to post 'whats the guaranteed amount?'

Sounds fair enough to me on what he has done and the Market at the mo.

LIke has been said a few times already, 7 years deals should be have an asterisk next to them as *optional

Is this another one of those '7 year' deals that's more like a 3 year deal because it's front end loaded?

Cutler's a good QB who has had his ups and downs, Trestman had to have sat there and thought "if I can get Josh McCown playing like Kurt Warner, then I can turn Cutler into Dan Marino". He'll have sold that vision to the FO along with the fact that whilst McCown played superbly down the stretch, he's mid 30's and may not hold up - and after that, the FA market is very very poor, whilst the Draft is what it always is - a crap-shoot.

I said the other month that if I was Cutler, I'd look at what his replacement has been doing under the HC and be very very happy with what I was seeing. The Bears are a terrific organisation and with the right tweaks, contenders. Look at the weapons too - one of the top 5 RB's in the game and two elite receivers. If that O-line improves then the Bears will be almost unstoppable.

More people now going with the $50M-$55M guaranteed figure. I think that's a great deal for both parties.

Great news and a great press conference, Phil E continues to impress me! These are some key bits I took

Phil wants better tackling and communication.-- direct shot here at tucker! Firmly placing his feet at the fire

Cutler being given a 7 year deal means he took a big hometown discount and will be on a cap friendly deal

I Love Phil's enthusiasm and how he handles himself and the mistakes his made re Hardin

Shea will be converted to a LB

The draft will be focus purely on defensive players and phil will look to move away from veterans

Briggs is being buttered up, is this for a trade or is to re sign? Not sure

Good to see bears can keep Some stuff in house also re cutty etc
