He certainly isn't. A quick look at their ring fingers will confirm that.

[QUOTE=Danny Bear;1975719]He is ideal as an OLB in a 3-4...problem is we dont have the big Ends for the line.[/QUOTE

I can only imagine that they will be coming in, be either FA or draft but Phil E has always preferred the 3-4

Signing Cutler means the Bears are pretty much set offensively for the next few seasons. Their offensive line looked good this year and they have Cutler, Forte, Marshall, Jeffery and Bennett at the skill positions. Thats solid.

They can now push on and use the draft to fill the holes in their defense. If they have a good draft this year then they could be a serious threat to go all the way next season.

I'd be reluctant to change scheme so quickly, especially as it would make most of our front seven redundant.

The defense was bad this year and changes need to come, but I'm not sure changing scheme is the best way to go about it.

It was hinted at through the press conference with the mentioned of the Leo and Shea.. When you consider Phil's history then at some point this may happen .. It wasn't at any time suggested immediately

Ah, ok. I'm more on board with a gradual change.

Without going off topic, changing to a 3-4 is going to take a hell of a lot of upheaval personnel wise! When the Cowboys moved to a 3-4 they used 2 first rounders that year on Ware and Spears just to start off with, and never really found a true NT either. Outside of McClellin i can't think of many guys on your D the switch would suit.

Cap hit in the first two years is really what counts.. The back end is more about creative bookkeeping.

The Offense is a winning unit. We needed a Defensive draft.

This is the right move.
