Can someone tell me how an Italian player pretty much tackles a Costa Rican player in the penalty area and it isnt a foul??? Im having a blast watching this but some of the calls/non-calls absolutely blow my mind.

I'm hearing a lot that Roy should play the young 'uns and give them sine experience. Psssh. What's one game when we're already out going to teach them. I say let the oldies go out in style.

I rate Colombia. But if they both win their groups then of course they won't play each other.

Got talking to someone yesterday who is flying to Brazil today and will be going to matches in Rio, Sao Paulo and Salvador. France v Ecuador and two 2nd round matches.

Jealous.

If the first 3 games there are anything to go by, he could be in for a treat. 17 goals in 3 games in Salvador so far.

For any England fans down or depressed, getting knocked out by Costa Rica happens to the best of us, now if next time you can draw with Iran....

My mate works with a guy who saved for a year to watch England out there but could only get tickets for the Costa Rica game.

Not jealous.

After what Italy did to England and Costa Rica did to Italy, it will be Costa Rica 6, England nil if Gerrard plays.

p.s. Best comment of the tournament so far:

"Let's have something to talk about," one of the commentators begged during the second half of Italy vs Costa Rica. Which was a bit like The Prisoner's tormentors demanding Information.
"You won't get it!"

The refs seem to be under orders not to 'interfere' with, or 'spoil', the game. They are steering clear of making big match changing decisions unless they are a) unavoidable. b) help Brazil win a match.
