The Raiders have released Bruce Irvin.

EDIT: He actually can’t be released officially until Monday, but he’s a goner.

The way the Rams and Eagles have built their roster, in comparison with the Browns and Bills who have stockpiled picks (although too early to tell the long term result with those franchises) trades within the NFL are likely to grow. This sin a league where only a few years ago trades of veterans beyond the roster churning type were very rare
Broncos too - that Super Bowl run was full of veteran pick ups. I can't remember if any were trades or whether it was just FAs. A few draft smashes like Von Miller but mostly it was players picked up from elsewhere.

They had already dropped him to 3rd on the roster because it was saving them something like $300,000 a game by making him inactive. I think that's probably it for Bradford now. But he's earned a hell of a lot of money considering how much (little) he's done in the league. The last of an era, I guess.

also using the formula for the comp picks in the 2019 draft the Cardinals will now gain an extra 6th rounder and the Vikings will lose the 3rd rounder they would have got for losing Bradford in he had been on the Cardinals roster in week 10.

also Bradford is only due $2.5m in salary for the rest of '18 so good chance someone will think about picking him up.his '19 salary isn't guaranteed from memory.

also this is the last "cheap" year on there 4 year rookie deal so teams who have declined the 5th year options are cashing in now rather than waiting for possible 2020 compensatory picks.

Raiders are going to cut Bruce Irvin. They missed today's deadline so can't do it until Monday. We can't even get cutting a player right...

Part of me hates to say this, but the Raiders seem to have turned into the new Browns.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up on another team for the remainder of the season.

The Giants, Bills and Jags could take a look, given their current starters.
