Default New Eagles Fan wants some help!

Hi Guys, so I posted on here before the start of the new season asking for some help picking a team to support. After much deliberation I have picked, or they picked me, the Philadelphia Eagles. I like the badge and uniform colours and there is something about having a bold eagle as your logo, right? My brothers a massive 49ers fan, is there a rivalry there? What are the chances of the Eagles coming to Wembley next year? I wondered if there where any other eagles fans who could tell me a bit more about the history of the club and what I'm letting myself in too! Thanks everyone.

In terms of the Eagles coming to London, they are one of a number of teams i seriously doubt would be willing to give up a home game. There is of course a chance of the Eagles coming as a visiting team as the amount of games played here are expanding year on year.

Nothing much i know of between 49ers/Eagles as the teams have never really been good at the same time.

If you like the current uniforms, search the Kelly Green unis the team wore 20+ years ago. They are beautiful.

History wise - it is difficult being an Eagles fan as we have 0 superbowls and our 3 division rivals each have multiple victories. Our last championship came in 1960, before the superbowl era. The team has reached the superbowl twice, losing on both occasions. Known in the US for having one of the more loyal and devoted fanbases.

Pretty brief history for you there. I'm sure many on here can expand if you like - you will learn more as you go along. Like i say, supporting the Eagles is tough as they tend to give you hope before ultimately crushing that hope with a devastating loss. Hope that doesn't put you off haha! It just means it will be all the more special when (IF) we get that championship.

Most of all - ENJOY!!!!

I'm going to take this as you are new to the NFL?.

If so......

I'm not in that good a position to talk of the history of the team.

But if you've got some spare change I'd suggest you buy.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philadelphia...delphia+eagles

Or find it on Ebay.

As comprehensive as you could want.

------------------------------------------------------

The main thing is that I wouldn't be worried that you don't know the roster for a while. I don't know it fully and I started following them mid 2013. I do a fair bit of reading on them as well. It is a bit daunting. It can be a bit of a turn off. But now I know most of them it makes games a lot more enjoyable as I know each of their backgrounds and the expectations. Stick with it!!!!

Here are some blogs/news sites that are great:

http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/
http://www.phillymag.com/birds247/

Bleeding Green Nation is probably the best for new fans.

The first thing I did when I began following them was find out who the rookies were. The entire fanbase is new to them so you aren't behind with them. You can watch out for them during games and your opinion is as valid as everyone elses. Eventually I learned who the others guys were.

For the rest there is :

Good luck!!!.

well ive been a big eagles fan for the last 6 season and as far as history goes with the eagles the fans are always disappointed ., always good but never good enough .

your best just reading up taking little bits in at a time because there is a lot to catch up on. I wouldn't worry too much about reading back you seem to pick it up as you follow.

but you picked correctly and one year soon will be our year
