There's your problem right there. Nobody should be using Fosters as a benchmark.

The thing with alcohol threads?

The lager n@zis come out.

There's nothing wrong with the large chain generic draught lagers. Pint of Fosters/carlsberg/stella on a hot summers day? Thank you very much.

A warm ale with bits floating in it, brewed in someone's shed in Devon? Nah, you're alright.

Nothing wrong with them other than Carlsberg tastes like someone relieved themselves in your glass

I'm a N@zi because I think there are better lagers than Fosters?

I dont mind a Kronenberg or a Becks Vier but would much rather have a local ale or even better a European beer. There is an amazing group of European Beer bars in Altrincham that I love.

I dont mind a lager on a warm day.
As long as it is a decent one

Carling or Fosters with their 4% can do one.
Give me a nice German Lager like Krombacher or Bitburger or even Lowenbrau on said cool day instead.

At least I know these beers have been brewed in Germany instead of Carling or Fosters both of which are brewed to the dreaded "License" in places like Northampton.
The prices in the UK are shocking though.

Krombacher is 12 euros for a crate of 20 x 500ml bottles in Germany.
Here its £8 for 4 Bottles of the same in Tesco

50p a bottle in Germany V £2 a Bottle in Tesco

Any thread on any forum about beer will always bring out the lager haters slamming it for tasting like p***.

I drink both ale and lager, My favourites are Sagres and Peroni lagers and Doombar ale

EDIT: Also when in america I discovered Sierra Nevada Kellerweis which would probably be one of my favourites if I could ever find it in the UK

Is anyone actual saying this here though? Seems to me like a few people are saying they actually do like lager but would prefer premium brands than the mainstream session stuff. I don't see what is wrong with that in a thread titled Best Beer in the UK.
