Cracking UK Championship this year coming to a head tonight - looks like Selby is going to take it but nice to see a genuinely nice guy like Murphy doing well.

Being from Leicester im obviously a Selby fan, and was deighted to see him scrap it out in typical Selby fashion, but yes certainly to nice to see 2 guys in a final playing in good spirit.

Backed Selby at 11/1 to win it

The Jester is 9/1 to win the world championship, he'll take some beating if he brings his A game.

I always like Higgins in the long world championship format. Trump, Robertson and Selby all have a good chance as well. Hopefully Maguire gets knocked out early, I really don't like him.

Murphy is a boring, self righteous, holier than thou buffoon.

Get off the fence Paul!

Looking forward to getting down the Welsh Open again this season after my first live experience last year. Would be nice to see one of the Welsh boys do well again, its been fairly slim pickings in the last few years.

Even my nan, who sadly passed away aged 91 earlier this year, told me she thought he was self righteous. Mind you, her favourite snooker player of all time was Alex Higgins.

And this is exactly why snooker has been in decline. Whatever your personal opinions on Alex Higgins, he was a showman and entertainer who livened up the baize.

Murphy is typical of the bland robots who dominate the games these days.

Its more the case the sport wasn't much more than a novelty at its 'peak' in the 80's when so many folks even now are still going on about Alex and Big Bill etc.
Good call backing Selby from the start,I put a fiver at 14/1 on him to beat Murphy 10-4,might have came off but for a few shots in the first session.

A-frigging-men brother.

If he was chocolate, he'd probably eat himself.

The game needs characters, not professional bores.
