Default Salary cap / cuts

So we are about $10 million over the salary cap and we haven't even signed any draft picks yet - who do you reckon will be cut between now and next week.

By all accounts Max Starks is as good as cutm, which should free up a few million. (Flozell and Scott probably going to be starting tackles again this year)

Giving Woodley a long term contract should free up some more space for this year.

Also heard rumours that we are trying to renegotiate Adams contract to help cap space (hes due to make $5mil this year)

After that I don't see how we can afford to keep Foote or Randel El (both due to make about $2mil this year)

Still don't think that will be enough.

Looks like Randle El is officially cut as well - no real surprise.

both good moves, . . Starks is past his best, his best was never that great, and coming off an injury and having gained wait, this was no-brainer. Our offensive line is in a lot better shape than it was 12 months ago.

Randel El made a few nice plays last year, but we've got a shed load of talent waiting to blossom, so he had to go too.

Spaeth off to the Bears.

Shockingly under utilised by Airhead, never given chance to achieve his potential. I suspect he'll now go and get career high numbers over in the windy city.

Really dont mind him going

IMO the 2nd TE in a formation should be able to block better than Spaeth could. Spaeth is primarily a receiving TE but didnt have the confidence / opportunities to succeed.

Nick Eason has gone to Arizona as well

Scott and Colon have been re-signed - will be interesting if we keep Adams and his $5mil salary now.
Heyward is rumoured to have signed, should see his numbers soon and I expect the rest of the rookies to have signed over the weekend.

As expected Flozell Adams has been released.

Hopefully Sweed (remember him?) will get released at some point as well - by all accounts he is looking out of shape in training camp.
