That would be fantastic for all Steelers Fans in the UK and the fact that Mr Rooney has been quoted gives the story more credence.

Unfortunately just like the Wembley game, I cannot see the Steelers giving up a home fixture even if it is in Dublin. There would have to be buy in from a team who is happy to give up a home game like the Buccs or the Rams.

I read on bleacherreport that it would DEFINITELY NOT be a home game for the Steelers - and some sites were reporting the Chargers as potential hosts for the game...

The pitch size could be an issue. GAA pitches are generally 130 long 80 wide. Endzones and dugouts will account for a fair bit of the difference though. It would be great for Dublin and UK fans also.

It seems every offseason for the past couple of years this rumour surfaces...
Not saying it won't ever happen but i'll believe it when I see it!

i think the problem will come trying to find a team willing to essentially give up a home game, knowing that a significant majority of the fans there will be rooting for the Steelers.

The Ireland thing with Rooney, the great Steelers away support anyway, it will just be a sea of black and gold.

If i was the owner of another team i wouldn't do it.

To be honest we take over some home stadiums anyway so someone could just see the money and agree. I could see Tampa, Rams, Houston, Jacksonville, Miami doing it.

I saw Dan Rooney and Bettis at the fans meet the comish at hotel last year, thats a long way to come just for the sake of it.

Rooney was in Ireland anyway and Bettis was on his hof campaign trail.

As for the teams you suggested - they could all be possibilities. We play Miami next year, TB, Houston & Jacksonville in 2014 & the Rams in 2015. Another possibility could be the Steelers west but we don't play them until 2015.

I would love for it to happen but still think its more of a romantic dream than anything else.
