Default 2019 Dream Team

Time for some more off-season fun and debate. The idea is that together we'll build our NFL dream team and for fun, give them a Head Coach, Stadium and Uniform.

We'll break our selections down to firstly deciding on a dream team with players/coaches/stadiums/uniforms from each division, then the conference and then the NFL entirely. The players/coach etc that gets the most selections by the end of the week from our forum members will advance to the next stage, any ties will be decided by a coin flip.

We'll start with the AFC East, where voting is open until Sunday 19th May 2019.
AFC North: 20th May until 26th May
AFC South: 27th May until 2nd June
AFC West: 3rd June until 9th June
NFC East: 10th June until 16th June
NFC North: 17th June until 23rd June
NFC South: 24th June until 30th June
NFC West: 1st July until 7th July
AFC: 8th July until 14th July
NFC: 15th July until 21st July
NFL: 22nd July until 28th July

Build your dream team by selecting:

11 players for your Offense and include their position.
QB: Player
RB: Player
etc...
11 players for your Defense and include their position.

AFC East Dream Team:

Offence:

QB: Tom Brady (Patriots)
RB: Le'Veon Bell (Jets)
WR: Kenny Stills (Dolphins)
WR: Robby Anderson (Jets)
WR: Julian Edelman (Patriots)
TE: Chris Herndon (Jets)

OT: Laremy Tunsil (Dolphins)
OG: Kelechi Osemele (Jets)
OC: David Andrews (Patriots)
OG: Shaq Mason (Patriots)
OT: Cody Ford (Bills)

Defence:

DE: Jerry Hughes (Bills)
DT: Quinnen Williams (Jets)
DT: Ed Oliver (Bills)
DE: Michael Bennett (Patriots)

LB: CJ Moseley (Jets)
LB: Tremaine Edmunds (Bills)

DB: Stephon Gilmore (Patriots)
DB: Tre'Davious White (Bills)
DB: Minkah Fitzpatrick (Dolphins)
DB: Jamal Adams (Jets)
DB: Devin McCourty (Patriots)

A blend of youth and experience basically. Hopeful Tom still has the arm to make the most of Stills and Anderson. Lots of Tackles who might make better guards in the AFC East it seems, but might as well take a punt on youth if that's the case.

A little lightweight in the trenches so hopefully talent and energy bridges the gap. Not ideal at LB either but decided to pair experience with athleticism in the end. Micah Hyde (Bills) was very much in the mix at DB, but Devin McCourty has more experience/success and Minkah is basically a younger version of Hyde.

As many Jets as Patriots in the end...……….errrrm, I might have gone wrong somewhere.

Head Coach: Bill Belichick (Patriots)
Stadium: Gillette Stadium (Patriots)
Uniform: Bills (….Bills)

Maybe the next rendition of Jets uniform will be more inspiring!

Tbh, it basically comes down to the helmet/logo with the Bills choice.

Offence:

QB: Tom Brady (Patriots)
RB: Le'Veon Bell (Jets)
WR: DeVante Parker (Dolphins)

OC: David Andrews (Patriots)
OG: Shaq Mason (Patriots)
OT: Marcus Cannon (Patriots)

QB could be different in just a years time, but Brady is the clear choice for now. As is Bell at RB even with the year out, if McCoy hadn't of dropped off so much last season he'd definitely be the flex as it was slim pickings at WR. TE wasn't much better, but Herndon had a promising rookie campaign. The line is definitely the strong point of this offence, quality players at each position.

Defence:

DE: Jerry Hughes (Bills)
DT: Quinnen Williams (Jets)
DT: Leonard Williams (Jets)
DE: Michael Bennett (Patriots)

LB: CJ Moseley (Jets)
LB: Tremaine Edmunds (Bills)

DB: Stephon Gilmore (Patriots)
DB: Tre'Davious White (Bills)
DB: Xavien Howard (Dolphins)
DB: Jamal Adams (Jets)
DB: Devin McCourty (Patriots)

Not as much talent along the d-line in this division as there was a few years ago, but still some choices to be made over who makes the team. Mosley & Edmunds offer the highest upside at LB, though could just have easily have placed in Hightower, Van Noy, Bentley or Milano. Lots of DB talent in the division, including the best CB in the league from last season (Gilmore).

Head Coach: Bill Belichick (Patriots)
Stadium: New Era Field, Orchard Park (Bills)
Uniform: Patriots Throwbacks (Patriots)

Shouldn't even be a question about the coach, and the Pats throwbacks are a personal favourite. Perhaps the surprise is for Orchard Park, but I feel like Gillette can sound a little dull for a standard regular season game (perhaps a bit spoiled) whereas the Bills fans will be giving it their all any game.

Must admit, I was mighty close to going with Orchard Park too.

Spoilt for choice to some extent with DB's in the AFC East. The Tom Brady factor perhaps.

Interesting so many have gone for Tremaine Edmunds, he isn't even the best LB on the Bills for me, Matt Milano is

Milano was the best LB in the division until he got injured. Edmunds is like Minkah Fitzpatrick in that he needs to put together all traits of his game on a more consistent basis. Both if they progress in Year 2 will be in lists like this
