While part of me wants them to be 1-5 or 2-14 to get the first pick, I really see them anywhere between 4-12 and 7-9 thanks mostly to the coaching staff.

5-11 for me... but it's getting increasingly difficult to see where the production is going to come from (pesky injuries, poor squad depth etc...) - maybe if we tank this year we might not put all the blame on Cutler

I wasn't going to post here but following today's game I'm buzzed!

Going to be optimistic and go for 8-8. I know I may look crazy in a few weeks but I'm putting it out there!

Well it was certainly better than I expected but the secondary never got near any passes and the pass rush was non-existent.

Still it was better than last year.

'Better than last year' is something we are going to hear a lot, because it cannot be worse than last year !

Will know more after the Arizona game - Rogers is something else I'm afraid and the was the difference in my opinion

Bears Secondary to be honest I expected very little - but McPhee and Co went MIA ????

Forte immense !!!

8 & 8

Post week one...

Even though Forte ran the ball well against the Fudge Packers, Cutler was still Cutler, the revamped offensive line was suspect, Kyle Long struggled to adjust in his first game at RT, and WR play was mediocre even given Jeffery's obvious physical limitations. The defence got no pressure on QB, DBs were a mess, and LBs in coverage were mediocre to poor. About the only bright spot was the play of the D-line, but all those LBs playing in new positions need to get better (or in Allen's case younger) quickly.

They obviously were coached better and had a higher level of motivation but I still am having a hard time seeing more than 6 wins at best. I see them possibly beating OAK, WAS, TB, MIN, DET, and SF. On paper those games against MIN, DET, and SF are all tough though.

Maybe I'll settle at about 4-12, mostly because TB, OAK, and WAS are complete messes. Surely they can beat either MIN or DET once.

I reserve the right to revise this if White actually plays this year and the offence can be a little more dynamic, but still, 6-10 seems optimistic.

I think people are being awfully hard on the pass rush.

We rushed only four pretty much the entire game. McPhee had a tough match up with Bulaga who handled him pretty well. Allen caused Bakhtiari some issues, but Rodgers was able to roll out and make time when they got leverage.

It's game 1 vs the best QB in the NFL and two of the best pass blocking Tackles in football. It doesn't get tougher.

The pass rush will improve when we get Ratliff back shooting gaps and that causes the interior protection to adjust. Plus we'll simply play worse teams.

Just for the record: The Bears recorded 9 QB hurries in the game. That's a notch below average (10-12) but we were facing a good line. It's not "good" but it's no cause for concern at this stage.

If Jay is out for any length of time then I fear we may not win any games. Right now with Clueless Clausen at QB we suck worse than a Hoover with no power cord

Everything that could go wrong this season HAS gone wrong with the injuries - no deep threat plus no secondary plus no pass rush equals an unmitigated disaster

Cant wait for the power rankings !
