If Duke Johnson has a big game against Florida September 7th he's going to be a serious contender for the Heisman. He was a tad inconsistent last year, but with him now being the starter, and a full offseason in Al Golden's UTough program I expect him to step up and be even better this season.

ESPN is ranking the top 25 players in the SEC currently.

AJ McCarron came in at #4 just ahead of Aaron Murray, do people agree with that?

Teddy Bridgewater has become the new 2013 favourite to take home the Heisman trophy.

The Louisville QB leads the pack with 5/1 odds in Bovada’s updated list released on Tuesday, two days after the passer lit up Ohio by going 23-of-28 for 355 yards and five touchdowns. Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller, the previous favourite, dropped from 9/2 to 13/2. Miller was among several players who took a dip in Heisman odds, joining South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (6/1 to 15/1) to Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray (14/1 to 25/1).

Bridgewater wasn’t the only quarterback who made a big move in Week 1. Florida State’s Jameis Winston, who picked apart Pitt’s defense in his first collegiate game on Monday night, propelled from 35/1 to 10/1. Meanwhile, Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel moved from 15/1 to 15/2. Clemson’s Tajh Boyd, who leads SI.com’s Heisman Watch this week, climbed from 14/1 to 8/1.

It's obviously very early days, but wouldn't it be something to have back-to-back freshmen win the QB & RB (aka Heisman) trophy.

It's due a RB win I think so Gurley, Yeldon or De'anthony thomas is my shout. I'll whittle it down as the season goes.

Got Boyd and Teddy at 16/1 before the season. Louisville likley has to go unbeaten and Teddy needs to be looking at 50+ TDs to about 6 or 7 ints, but he has a shot.

I am another who went with Boyd at 16. The schedule might hurt Teddy. It might not hurt him being #1 if he declares tho.

Took McCarron at 17/1 and Miller at 9/1 before the season. Holding tight for now.
