Todd Christensen drafted by the Cowboys as a fullback but spent his best years at the Raiders as a tightend (also long snapper), wore #46.

home teams are 6-0 in the 2017 playoffs with the average margin of victory over over 15 points, guess we need atleast 1 close game today.

Everyone has heard the stat by now that the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl 45 were the only team in the last decade or so to have won the Super Bowl not wearing white. But they were also the last team to win having been favourites in Vegas at kick-off. Patriots are in white and currently favourites by 3 points.

On the subject of Vegas: the last 4 Super Bowl winners by margins of 14 points or more were all underdogs at kickoff: Broncos last year, the Seahawks in SB 48, the Giants in SB 42 and the Buccaneers in SB 37.

And the last 3 teams favoured by Vegas by more than 10pts heading into the big game? All lost. The Patriots were 12pt faves and lost to the Giants in SB 42, but they upset the 14pt favourite Rams in SB 36, and the 11pt Packers lost SB32.

Conclusion: the house doesn't always win when it comes to the Super Bowl.

in the 6 superbowls Belichick coached the patriots we have not scored any points in the 1st quaters.

in 50 superbowls so far 13 have been decided by 4 points or less, all 6 Belichick coached patriot games have been decided by 4 points or less.

the patriots finished 1st in points allowed this year and the only other time a belichick/pats team did this was in 2003 but also in 2003

the pats finished 14-2 in the regular season
the pats never trailed in a game after week 12(including play-offs)
the patriots where shut-out by the Bills in a game
won the superbowl

in 2016 the pats finished 14-2
we have not trailed in any game since we beat the jets in week 12
got shut out in week 4 by the Bills

Hard to believe those Buccs & Seahawks teams were not favoured in hindsight, or indeed any other sort of sight. Hugely dominant defense is something I'd always have a fancy for in playoff games and superbowls. I like the Pats in this one because of their superior defense over Atlanta. No1 scoring defense over no1 scoring offence, I'd take that any time, and especially if that no1 scoring defense has Brady running their offence too.

Matt Ryan is the first QB to appear in a Superbowl wearing the Number 2.

Didn't he line up in the victory formation at the end of Super Bowl 33?
