Default Saints Draft thread.

Positions of need?

Lots of folk seem to thin Outside Linebacker or Defensive end?

Sean Witherspoon? Navarro Bowman? Brian Price? Jean-Pierre Paul

Heard Sean Payton in an interview at the combine suggesting with the 32nd pick you have to take the best guy left on the board.

So who is the 32nd best player coming out of college?

Of course a lot might depend on what happens in free agency, who we might lose or gain.

If Brunell retires, might we pick up some low/mid round development QB?

Tebow!!! lol

Seriously though i agree with SP that we have to go for best availible. OLB or DE is a need but we will have to wait until after free agency to see what we need to draft.

Well, I assume you mean FS and I don't see any point as Jenkins will be moving there soon imo.

An OLB along the line might be a good idea. Fujita may not have been the best athlete or football player but he was a fine leader - so I'd like to see Sharper stick around and maybe a couple of sensible vet signings.

You don't really know who are the best 32 players in the draft because some teams may draft need over best player available.

example buccaneers select berry over suh or gerald mccoy ect ect which could change the shape of the 1st round certainly the first half.

To be honest I like the look of Chip Vaughn for the future FS position to eventually replace Sharper. Hopefully he'll be healthy this year and Williams will introduce him into the system.

It would be nice to get a rock solid Defensive line though.

Do the Saints really need another WR? I think all the focus should be on defense
