David Moyes sacked by Real Sociedad, one day short of his one year anniversary at the club. Longer than he lasted at Man U anyway.

I read it somewhere (Balague maybe) that the expectations were too high for Moyes, and I agree. I don't follow La Liga as closely as other leagues, but I get the impression being the 'Ex Man Utd manager' brought with it it's own problems.

Balague was saying on SSN that he thinks that Moyes didn't learn enough Spanish as well.

Shows the difference in cultures if that is seen as a reason to sack him, yet Pochettino gets a free ride on not speaking English for so long as manager of Southampton.

Well it depends how much it gets in the way of results I'd think: Southampton were flying high regardless of Pochettino's lack of English while Sociedad are languishing at 16th

Also I suspect Pochettino actually spoke pretty solid English for much of the time that he was still doing interviews with a translator. Even when he started the job I wouldn't be surprised if his English was better than Moyes Spanish is now. Anyone know if Moyes ever did any interviews in Spanish? I'd be surprised

Moyes got himself sent to the stands arguing an offside decision, so he probably knows a couple of words...

Great goal by Neymar at the weekend, it has been a real joy watching him whilst Messi has been injured and he's allowed to be the "main man". Wonder if Neymar may get the Ballon D'or nod this year.

Fergie barely spoke English, but had a decent spell at Man U

a very dominant showing from Barca, which is always good to see.

Ramos seems to get very lucky with cards.
